The week has been a whirlwind: many trips to the printer, working on ad layouts, meetings, meetings, and more meetings.
Our city lost a strong man and former mayor pro-tem, Bill Murdoch. Bill was a WWII hero, a textile executive who started at the bottom of the ladder, and a man who loved his city. He was a delightful man and will be missed by many here in Salisbury.
My committee for Planning Board is reviewing the Bicycle Vision Plan. My husband volunteered to ride the first loop and took great notes on every aspect of it. We are reviewing each loop in detail and hope to have a presentation by the end of the year.
The end of the week was highlighted by a party at The Gables at Kepley Farms, a local neighborhood for seniors. This neighborhood has been plagued with financial ills brought on partially by the recession. They came to Planning Board regarding a matter a month or so ago, and I visited their neighborhood to get the whole picture.. In appreciation, they invited me to the grand opening of their clubhouse. We had food, music, and great fellowship. Thank you, folks: It was great to see you and I appreciate your support!
"For too long poor people have had no recourse when problems occur in their rental properties. You have been instrumental in getting this situation reviewed and then putting in place ways to deal with these problems. Thank you so much!" Jean Wurster (Educator)
